How did we come up with this list?

The Methodology.

Your win-loss record is what makes or breaks you as a lawyer. Just as important, however, is what your clients say about you that makes you a great lawyer. Part of our analysis comes from extensive internet research, including review of the big review sites and direct contact with top lawyers and clients. From that, we were able to determine which lawyers consistently receive good reviews from their customers.

The “Best Mass Tort Lawyer List” rankings are based on a strict evaluation process that includes client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from top attorneys, and review of other information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. To be eligible for a ranking on our list, lawyers must:

The Submission Process

How we evaluated lawyers.

In January, the submission packages are emailed to law firms around the world. Each package includes:

A map and list of eligible practice and metro areas.  Each applicant must be located in one of the metro areas we cover.

We also require a list of clients and references. Upon receipt of this list of references, clients and/or professional references are emailed a survey about the lawyer’s expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to the lawyer. NOTE: All submissions are kept strictly confidential.

Ranking

How we ranked each lawyer.

The data is then objectively calculated to produce a “Drugwatcher’s Annual 100 List: Mass Tort Lawyers” score for each lawyer. Because lawyers were often separated by nominal differences in the overall scores, we decided to not rank or tier them.

Award Notification: Firms are notified of their rankings via email every month.
