Small amber bottles with dropper

While many supplements claim to keep you healthy, some might just be out there making false claims, putting your well-being at stake.

One of the two supplements recently recalled by Fusion Health and Vitality was found to have an unapproved additive which can sometimes be found in weight loss supplements.

A couple of weight loss medications have been recalled in the past due to their side effects.

For instance, Belviq, a weight loss supplement, was recalled in 2020 after clinical trials showed that the diet drug was associated with an increased risk of cancer that outweighed its benefits.

After its recall, several Belviq lawsuits have been filed by plaintiffs who were diagnosed with cancer after taking the supplement.

In this case, however, Fusion Health and Vitality LLC has voluntarily recalled all 2020 lots of CORE essential nutrients and Immune Boost Sublingual Vitamin D3, each for different reasons.

Reason For The Recall

According to the company-written, FDA-posted recall notice, CORE was found to contain hordenine HCI, an unapproved additive, which is potentially unsafe for oral ingestion.

Those who take the supplement might experience side effects like high blood pressure or rapid heart rate.

The company’s Immune Boost Sublingual Vitamin D3, on the other hand, was also recalled due to improper labeling which rendered it an unapproved new drug under FDA labeling laws.

How To Spot The Affected Products

The company began shipping the recalled CORE product on January 2, 2020, and the recalled Immune Boost product began shipping on April 15, 2020.

CORE products are in powder form and are packaged in a dark colored jar, intended to be mixed into a liquid before consumption.

On the other hand, the Immune Boost sublingual was packaged in a 2-oz. bottle and comes with an application dropper.

Both products come in labels which prominently display the product name.
